Summer’s coming to an end, which means that it’s time to “Do the Puyallup!” The largest state fair in Washington for over a half-century has been renamed from the Puyallup Fair to The Washington State Fair. Starting on September 6th and running until the 22nd, you have 17 days to enjoy the tradition with your family and friends.
While you’re there, catch a concert, enjoy the rodeo, and conquer the rides. The Fair has a little bit for everyone from kids to adults you’ll find the fun. A new ride we’re excited about is the Rainer Rush which speeds through twists and turns up to 50mph. Along with the rides, some of the performances we’re looking forward to seeing are Little Big Town, Carrie Underwood, Trace Adkins and Kid Rock. For a full lineup of concerts, visit the Washington State Fair website.
A can’t miss attraction this year is Luminasia! A modernized form of Chinese lantern making. We loved viewing the stunning exhibit at night! “Artisans from China have been on the grounds in Puyallup since August 3 assembling this marvelous exhibit. Over 23,000 state-of-the-art bulbs are used to illuminate this spectacle for viewing both day and night. This unique look at many Washington state sights is sure to wow your entire family.” Other attractions to look forward to are the Cirque Magnifique, a unique circus theater company with a contemporary style and the fireworks show which blasts of each Friday of the fair at 10pm.
Also, don’t forget to bring your appetite – we love all of the Fair food available – fresh scones, Earthquake burgers and more! For more information about the entire Fair and events, check out their website and plan your 2013 Washington State Fair trip!
