Seattle Center Monorail will open 3.5 hours early at 5:00 a.m. for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon & 1/2 Marathon on June 23, 2012. The race begins at 7 a.m. – the course starts and finishes at Seattle Center.
If you are interested in riding the Monorail to the start line between 5:00 a.m. – 6:30 a.m., you must purchase tickets through the Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle website to reserve your spot. If you plan on riding the Monorail anytime after 7:00 a.m. – you can purchase a ticket from the cashier on the platform, please remember that the Monorail is cash only and we do not accept ORCA cards.
Tickets are $2.25 per person and will provide you with one-way transportation from Westlake Center (3rd floor, 5th and Pine Street) to Seattle Center. Prepaid tickets are being sold on the Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle website in ten minute time increments beginning at 5:00 a.m (5:10 a.m., 5:20 a.m., 5:30 a.m., etc) – space is limited to 200 people per time slot.

To catch the Monorail from downtown Seattle: Westlake Center Mall does not open until 9 a.m., so you must enter the mall from the elevator or stairwell entrance on 5th Avenue between Olive Way and Pine Street – the entrance is on the side of the mall beneath the Monorail beams. The Monorail platform is located on the third floor.
To catch the Monorail from the Link Light Rail: Catch the Sound Transit Link Light Rail from South Seattle and exit the train at Westlake Center (the very last stop). From the transit tunnel at Westlake, look for signs for the Monorail, you can take the elevator (with ‘MONORAIL’ written above it) up to to the Westlake Center Monorail platform located on the third floor of Westlake Center.
