Celebrating 50 Years of Service!

Join us as the Monorail celebrates its 50th Anniversary on March 24, 2012!

Ride for FREE on March 24th if you bring an old Monorail ticket dated from anytime between 1962 to 2010 or a photo of yourself as a child riding the Seattle Monorail!

Two hundred commemorative gold medallions will be given away to the first two hundred passengers who ride the Monorail from Westlake Center to Seattle Center on March 24th. The gold medallions resemble the commemorative medals given to inaugural passengers when the Monorail opened in 1962.

Historic photos and monorail memorabilia will be on display inside of the train that is parked at Seattle Center - we encourage you to explore the history of the monorail and share your stories.

If you're interested in touring the Monorail facility and learning more about how the trains work, there will be several complimentary tours offered throughout the day. At lease two of the tours will be geared towards families with children. If you are interested in signing up for one of the tours, please email meganc@seattlemonorail.com. Space is limited.

Park downtown and take the Monorail to Seattle Center during festivals and events this year! Trains depart every ten minutes or less.
