Want to learn about the rich history of Seattle? The Museum of History and Industry in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood has you covered! Packed with interactive exhibits exploring the city’s history, MOHAI is sure to please museum-goers of all ages!
True Northwest: The Seattle Journey serves as the centerpiece to the museum. It features 25 different “snapshots” that explore pivotal events in Seattle’s history. These fascinating stories are told through artifacts, archival photos, multimedia and interactive displays.
Seattle has a rich maritime history, something that is embraced fully in the Maritime Seattle exhibit. It includes archival photos, scale models and historical artifacts, including a 1885 Fresnel Lens from the Smith Island Lighthouse! And if you’re still craving more, a working World War II-era TANG periscope will give you a peek at Lake Union where you can see Seattle’s maritime industry in action!
