On Saturday, July 28th, the city of Seattle will be holding its annual Torchlight Run & Parade! The Monorail will operate in extended hours of operation and will be open until midnight! There are two races that will take place: a 5k race and an 8k race. Both races start and finish at the Seattle Center (2nd Avenue and Thomas).
You can register for the race online or on-site. On-Site registration will be available on the day of the event starting at 4 PM. The race will begin at 6:30 PM with the Award Ceremony taking place at 7:30 PM. Race information can be found by clicking here.
But it doesn’t end here. We encourage you to stick around after the race and watch the Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade! The parade begins at 7:30 PM. You’ll be treated to a sight of giant balloons, floats, marching bands, and more! Parade information can be found by clicking here.
Due to the event taking place in the heart of Seattle, many of the roads surrounding the Seattle Center will be closed. The Monorail is the fastest, most convenient way to travel between Seattle Center and downtown. On Saturday, July 28th, the Monorail will be open from 8:30AM to midnight because of Seafair. Hope to see you here for this timeless summer tradition!
